In an effort to increase student-centered events on campus, the Law School will begin this week a new tradition of providing students with free coffee and donuts on Wednesday mornings from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
The new initiative comes at the suggestion of Law School Dean Tim Fisher, seeking to create a welcome environment and sense of community among students on campus. Assistant Dean of Students Karen DeMeola said that Fisher approached her about a month ago with the idea, hoping to create something that “allows students to come together in a casual environment.”
DeMeola said that unlike the Faculty Student Breakfasts the Law School holds, the new tradition will be geared toward students, but that faculty are certainly encouraged to attend. The Wednesday morning breakfast will be served in the Slate Foyer of the library beginning this week, October 23, and running until November 13.
