OS X 10.9 Mavericks and Exam4

[Updated 11/15/13]

At an October 22 Event, Apple released many new products, including its newest computer operating system, OS X 10.9, Mavericks. For the first time, Apple has offered OS X free to current Mac owners (down from $19.99 for OS X 10.8).

On October 16, Ricardo Mardales of ITS informed students via email that exam software Exam4 would not support OS X 10.9 or Microsoft’s recently released Windows 8.1, and that students should not update before their fall exams.

Extegrity, the company that provides the Exam4 software has since told ITS staff that both OS X 10.9 Mavericks and Windows 8.1 will be supported by Exam4 for this upcoming fall exam period. Students can safely update their systems. Exam4 software will be available for download by students on November 18.

Operating Systems Compatible with Exam4:

  • Windows Vista, 7, and 8 (including 8.1)
  • Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, and 10.9
